Our Story

Built By Two Sisters, Not A Boardroom

Classic yet original. Traditional yet progressive. Art Hide was built to make heirlooms.

Art Hide was formed in 2009 by Australian sisters Kura Perkins and Bree Hay-Hendry. Kura's travels through South America sparked the vision, Bree's background as a textile and fashion designer gave it shape. Fifteen years on, that same instinct, part instinct, part obsession with craft, still drives every rug that leaves our workshop.

Our leather-craft team works fifth-generation techniques alongside cutting-edge production technology, laser etching, stitchless Fusion joins, precision colour matching, so that nothing we make ever feels mass-produced. Every piece is built to order, for a specific room, a specific client, a specific brief.

Working With The Best

We don't just supply rugs to interior design. We sit inside the process, working directly with some of the most considered studios in the industry to build pieces that belong in the room, not just on the floor.

Every Art Hide rug is made to order, any size, any shape, any colour. Custom was never a department here. It's the whole business.

How We Source

Every Art Hide hide is a by-product of the meat industry, sourced from regulated tanneries where tanning and dyeing methods are safe for workers and non-polluting. No animal is farmed for its hide alone.

Fifteen years in, we're still doing this the same way we started, one rug, one room, one client at a time.
